About the show
The business of video production, told straight
Creatives Grab Coffee is a weekly podcast where the people who actually run production companies talk about how the business really works: the pricing, the hiring, the losses, and the wins that never make it onto a highlight reel.
Hosted since September 2020 by Dario Nouri and Kyrill Lazarov, co-founders of Lapse Productions in Toronto, the show has grown into a global conversation with owners and creatives from studios of every size, in every market.

Why we started
When we launched the show in 2020, most of what existed for video professionals was either gear talk or generic business advice. Nobody was talking about the questions that keep production company owners up at night: how do you price a shoot without guessing, when do you make your first hire, how do you land clients bigger than your portfolio suggests you should?
So we started asking those questions ourselves, over coffee, with people who had lived the answers. Six seasons and more than a hundred episodes later, the format has not changed: two hosts, one guest, and an honest conversation about the parts of this industry nobody posts about. The full archive is free at creativesgrabcoffee.com/episodes.
“Honest conversations with the people who actually run production companies.”
What we talk about
Every episode digs into the real mechanics of running a creative business. The themes that come up again and again:
Pricing, margins, and client expectations
Scaling teams, freelancers, and systems
Niching down vs staying broad
AI, automation, and changing workflows
Sales, marketing, and positioning
Long-term sustainability in a competitive market
Pricing comes up in almost every conversation. For the written version of our take, Lapse breaks down what a corporate video actually costs and videographer day rates. Curious how a full project comes together end to end? Start with the guide to the corporate video production process.
Meet the hosts
Dario Nouri
Co-host / Producer
Dario Nouri is the co-founder of Lapse Productions, where he leads producing and the business side of the company: pricing, client relationships, and operations. On the show, he is the one steering conversations toward the numbers, the systems, and the decisions that make or break a production company.
Kyrill Lazarov
Co-host / Creative Director
Kyrill Lazarov is the co-founder and creative lead at Lapse Productions, directing story and craft across the company’s work. On the show, he brings the creative counterweight: how to protect quality while scaling, and how great work becomes a business advantage rather than a cost.
Between them, Dario and Kyrill have spent over a decade building creative businesses and fighting the same battles their guests describe every week.
Produced by Lapse Productions
Creatives Grab Coffee is a sibling brand of Lapse Productions, a Toronto video production company founded in 2014 and working across corporate, commercial, and branded content for clients in tech, finance, healthcare, and beyond. The podcast shares the company’s bones: the same plain-spoken voice, and the same belief that this industry gets better when people talk honestly about how it works.
If you are looking to produce a video rather than make one, that is the Lapse side of the family.
